Ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the city of Paris has envisioned a green city by planting trees and gardens alongside four of its historic sites. The chosen sites are as follows:
• Place de l'Hotel de Ville
• The Gare de Lyon
• The Palais Garnier
• Footpath along the banks of the river Seine
The project is set up so as to improve the air quality and to ensure the prediction of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change does not come true. Reports say that Paris could face temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celsius by 2050. The current aim of the city is to be a carbon neutral city by 2050. Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo has assured that the new designs would not interfere with the view of these famous pieces of Architecture and goes on to say that the city has an obligation to act responsibly for it. There are also plans to introduce greenery in over 28 children's playgrounds all across the city.
Here at Sigma College of Architecture, one of the Top Architectural Colleges in Tamil Nadu we help our students broaden their horizons by educating them on projects that think outside the box.
