Marina Bay Sands Extension

Safdie Architects has made plans to extend its Marina Bay Sands hotel in Singapore by adding a new stand-alone fourth tower. The Marina Bay Sands is an architectural icon in Singapore and is a giant luxury tower built on reclaimed land. The currently existing towers are linked by a cantilevered Sky Garden which houses luxury hotel rooms, museums, casino, theatres and restaurants. The new extension will reveal a fourth Tower with a similar a static and characterized by its iconic curvaceous silver and glass facades. It will house over 1000 Hotel suites and also have provision for meeting rooms, ballrooms, exhibition halls and even a dramatic atrium and terrace. The expected date of completion has not been revealed but the said work is expected to begin very soon.
