The Great Park Ice and Fire Point Arena

Architecture and design firm LLP has designed California largest ice skating facility. The project titled The Great Park Ice and Fire Point Arena is the largest community ice complex in California. The arena would also be the training facility for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. The project was the vision of Ducks owner Henry and Susan Samueli and the overall cost was 110 million US dollars. The 280 mm square foot Community Centre hopes to create a public resource that promotes health Wellness and ice sports in general. The project in addition to having a Centre for hockey and skating also includes other amenities such as amphitheatres, outdoor public spaces classrooms and even a pub. The five-point Arena will also serve as the official training facility for the US figure skating team ahead of the Olympics. As far as the athletes are concerned they have separate team lounges and locker rooms training facilities as well as a room dedicated for game analysis.
