Designer Yves Béhar, Béhar, founder of design studio Fuseproject and homebuilding technology company ICON, all these three musketeers have teamed up to build 3D printed houses for an entire farming community in Latin America. This would be the world's first 3D printed community dedicated to a small population of farmers and palm weavers. The concrete walls will be left exposed both inside and out but will be decorated with a striated pattern which occurs as a result of the 3D printing. Residents can choose from a range of colour tints for their concrete. Perforated concrete blocks will be present on top of the walls so as to create natural ventilation. The curved roof that extends to the back and front will serve as active protection against heavy rainfall.
