Tower of the Sun

Rotterdam-based designers Fundamental Architects in association with Omega Render has proposed the ‘Tower of the Sun’ project which is a building that has been envisioned from the Kazakhstan flag planned across the Ishim river in the center of the city of Nursultan the city formerly known as Astana, the current capital of Kazakhstan. The 75,000 square-meter-building will be designed in the shape of the flag which will leave a hole in the center of the building where the sun rests in the flag. It will be cut from the center of the 121-meter-tall block. The building would house a two-storey-high shopping mall and a publicly accessible roof terrace, not to mention topped with luxury flats and offices on the floors above. The position of the building has been so that it does not hinder the views towards the Presidential Palace from the highway and draws a straight line from the main highway and the palace.

Here at Sigma College of Architecture, one of the Top Architectural Colleges in Tamil Nadu we help our students broaden their horizons by educating them on projects that think outside the box.
