Design studio, ARCVS founded by Branislac Redži? and Dragan Ivanovi? has imagined a 200-metre-long two-storey bridge named the ‘Elbow Shadow’ in Novi Sad, Serbia which will also double as a hotel and office building. The structure will span over the River Danube and will also serve as a multifunctional gateway for pedestrians and cyclists between the city's late-17th-century Petrovaradin Fortress and its port. On either side of the bridge, there will be two spiral ramps enclosed by glass walls and the support to the second storey which measures 2,500 square metres and host the private spaces divided equally into offices and hotel rooms will be provided in the form of foundations in the river banks and will also feature a slender V-shaped column within the river. It is positioned towards the bank on the right, so as to shorten the span of the bridge without blocking the waterway. 4,000 square metres of land is lost on the embankment but the use of steel lattice providing for another functional level amounts to a total of 6,000 square metres.
