Cliff Top Island Home in British Columbia

Burgers Architecture, a Canadian Studio, has built a vacation home on Vancouver’s Bowen Island with gabled roofs and glass walls that overlook the waterway of the region. The property is located on the shoreline and is basically, a gently sloping grass meadow, which is rich with wildlife like mule deer and eagles.

The cliff top island home is U-shaped and occupies around 4500 square feet. The design is inspired by the rugged coastal fisherman’s hut, which can withstand southeasterly winter winds and the corrosive salt air. The interiors consist of a kitchen incorporated with white, L-shaped cabinets and grey counters. Outside the kitchen, there is a patio for outdoor dining and space further away from the property. There are two bedrooms with attached bathrooms at the center of the home, along with a dining room. An office is near the entrance, which is at the other end of the house. It has steps that provide you access to a cellar and art storage in the basement. The minimal furnishing in the grey, white, black and wood tones add more elegance to the house. The living room also has a large collection of art displayed.
