BAMBOO PROJECTS

Under the guidance of Ar. Kiran, Assistant Professor of Sigma College of Architecture, our students have designed and developed several still models and designs for low cost housing using bamboo, as part of promoting sustainable living. This project also focused on the diversified utility of bamboo for constructing low-cost, environment-friendly habitats

CASE STUDIES

Students are taken for a live case study to different locations for almost all subjects, where the students will have fruitful discussions with the Architect as well as document the structure of the buildings. This will improve the ability of the students in understanding and designing buildings.

COCHIN MATTANCHERRY PROJECT

As a part of the curriculum, the current final year students have worked on the Cochin Mattancherry Area Project for urban study. The students have studied the area and submitted a proposal for the development of this area. All the study sheets and models were presented to eminent Architects and displayed in the studio.

FORT COCHIN URBAN DESIGN PROJECT

The Project seeks a comprehensive vision for the site, to facilitate high quality and innovative urban design and addressing the future challenges while enhancing the community’s quality of life and economic prosperity. It is a multi-layered project and therefore requires multi-disciplinary design skills such as Innovative design thinking, urban design as an integrated social-economic and ecological design challenge, Strategic urban planning & principles, assembling and leading multidisciplinary ideas comprising a diversity of disciplines, landscape architecture, urban design, planning, transport planning, sustainable design and community.

STUDENT PROJECTS

Active contribution is ensured through various real-time projects using innovative techniques and tools, practice-based learning in the design studio and promote them to recognize real-life opportunities, in which they can act confidently and creatively, to open up their future career corridors.
